A sweet, moist, and easy Amish Cinnamon Bread Recipe with a crunchy cinnamon-sugar swirl. Perfect for breakfast, snacks, or dessert no yeast required!

Ingredients

Scale
    • 2 cups all-purpose flour

    • 1 tsp baking soda

    • 1 tsp baking powder

    • ½ tsp salt

    • 1 cup buttermilk (or milk + 1 tbsp vinegar)

    • ½ cup unsalted butter, softened

    • 1 cup sugar

    • 2 eggs

    • 1 tsp vanilla extract

Cinnamon-Sugar Swirl

    • ⅔ cup sugar

    • 2 tsp ground cinnamon

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 175°C (350°F). Grease a 9×5 inch loaf pan.

  2. Mix ⅔ cup sugar with 2 tsp cinnamon; set aside.

  3. Cream butter, sugar, and eggs until light. Add buttermilk and vanilla, mix well.

  4. Stir in flour, baking soda, baking powder, salt until just combined.

  5. Pour half the batter into pan, sprinkle half the cinnamon sugar. Add remaining batter and top with rest of cinnamon sugar. Swirl lightly with a knife.

  6. Bake 45–50 min or until a toothpick comes out clean. Cool before slicing.

Notes

  • DIY buttermilk: mix milk with vinegar or lemon juice.

  • Add-ins: chopped nuts, raisins, or chocolate chips for extra texture.

  • Storage: keep airtight for 3–4 days or freeze slices for up to 3 months.
